How to Stay Protected on Web

* How to stay protected on Web *

Today I am going to tell you about a very common problem which every internet user suffers with while surfing on internet.
Hackers out there target users by displaying different kinds of eye catching ads.
When a user clicks on these annoying ads, user is redirected to a download page and malware files are downloaded into the pc which silently installs itself and eat up all the memory and other resources and the system becomes slow.
- Some other scammers embed the virus files into known software products which show as a normal original software but on back end it silently exploits into the file system of computer system. When a user downloads the software from an untrusted website, it installs as if its the original software but after installation the system hangs and the virus eats up all the memory resources and makes the computer slow.

- So, I am going to tell you about some of the tricks to stay safe from hackers and scammers on internet.

1- Never install any software from untrusted websites.

2- Don't give out your personal information too easily on any random website.

3- Set your privacy settings in your social networking accounts.

4- Beware of sites or emails that offer some sort of reward or prize in exchange for your contact information or other personal details. These are all SCAMS.

5- Keep your browser up to date in order to ensure safety and best browsing experience.

- For Firefox Users ->

-- If you are on Mozilla Firefox, the first thing you should do is to update it to the latest version which includes new features and gives best browsing experience.

-  Firefox is set to automatically update itself but you can always do a manual update. Here's how:

-  Click the Firefox Menu button , click Options -> Click Advance from sidebar -> Click Update tab

- This opens the configuration options for updating Firefox. By default, “Automatically install updates” is selected.

- It is recommended that you allow updates to install automatically to make sure that you get the best browsing experience and your browser is as secure as possible.

For Chrome Users ->

-- Chrome typically keeps itself up to date, but if you need to manually update Chrome, it only takes a minute.

- Click the menu button located in the upper-right corner of the Chrome window.  Select 'About Google Chrome' option from the drop down list.
- Opening this page will automatically attempt to update Chrome. After the update is finished installing, click the Relaunch button to restart Chrome as the new version.

If you are using any other browser like Internet Explorer, Opera or Safari then kindly update to a modern browser like Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome which are more secure and ensure the best browsing experience.

6- The next thing you should do is to install the Ad Block software to stop the annoying ads in browser. For Firefox Users, Adblock Plus is the recommended plugin which blocks all the annoying ads on websites.

7- Install an antimalware software which detects and removes viruses and malwares from the computer system. I recommend MalwareBytes Antimalware program which is free for personal use and detects and removes almost all malwares from the system that even Avast could'nt detect. It also has a 7 day free trial period of premium features. MalwareBytes Antimalware software can be downloaded from the following link :-
